Orange Cat Racing

This woodsy respite is an outdoor extension of the Orange Cat Racing headquarters, a motorcycle racing club & garage located within Chicago's West Loop neighborhood in a former textile factory.

The site has limited construction access due to the adjacent industrial buildings, 15’-raised viaduct, and steel armature cap. The limited project budget and site constraints prohibited excavation of contaminated in-situ soils. Instead of excavating and hauling those soils, an engineered barrier was applied and topped with Omni Infinity Media. Where there was 100-year accumulation of contaminated back fill is now a fescue-seeded lawn for barefoot relaxation.
