“This project showed us that there is a direct return on Omni Ecosystems’ green infrastructure."
quantifying the green roof’s ROI
“The units with lawned terraces sold at an average price 12.4% higher than that of comparable units without terraces on the floor above. In other words, these units boasted an average premium of $95,030 per unit, demonstrating a strong return on investment.”
— ULI Developing Urban Resilience case study
District House is a 28-unit luxury condo building in downtown Oak Park, Illinois with numerous green roofs totaling more than 9,000 sf. Installed in 2018, Omni Infinity Media is the growth media for the five green roof lawns on second-floor private terraces and two green roof meadows plus planters on the fifth-floor amenity deck. The 2nd-floor units sold for $95,030 more per unit than their 3rd-floor counterparts which did not have private green roofs, while the green roofs’ construction cost on average less than $20,000 more per unit. This significant ROI became the basis for a key case study from the Urban Land Institute.
