Omni Workshop Featured in LAM's Coverage of the Morton Salt Redevelopment Project

The redevelopment project of the nearly hundred year-old Morton Salt industrial facility and site into a vibrant mixed-use district with an entertainment venue has been grabbing headlines lately. Omni Workshop is the landscape architect for the project, along with Lamar Johnson Collaborative as architect, and R2 Companies and Blue Star Properties as developers. The latest edition of Landscape Architecture Magazine (LAM) features Omni Workshop’s role in the project, with Director of Landscape Architecture, Michael Skowlund, PLA, LEED AP, detailing how Omni Infinity Media is providing solutions for meeting both the development’s required stormwater management compliance and riverwalk requirements. “It’s quite literally and physically a sponge. You can continuously dump water on it, and it will never saturate and it won’t overflow.”

Additional coverage of the project can be found in our previous news post and in the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Tribune.
